Albert Chame : One of my friends has told that FREW Annual -2013 #1653 , he is sending very soon . Once we get it , would upload it . Its all stories are only Lee Falk 's stories otherwise already on net
Hi Ajay,
I understand what you wrote. But, a scan of a 2013 reprint can be better to far better than an old (and already available) scan from an old print.
And I do not talk about the scan quality (dpi too).
I explain below why it is important to scan new editions when older scans are available vs giving old available scan with new printed stories.
Let me take an example from this issue:
The story D054 - The Wrestling Tourney have been printed in Frew: 85, 168, 277, 421, 591, 790, 1219, 1541, and 1653. Unfortunately, I do not have more precise data on hand to explain why some reprints are better than older ones. Usually, the strips are left unchanged with the more recent editions, while in the older editions, some strips can be cut, other removed and some expanded. All of that to put the story in the Frew magazine layout. And this is common practive in every countries.
These data comes from:
http://www.ipcomics.net/classics-index/strips.htm?list=D054
One more thank for your scans / sharings (and thank you too to the people who lends printed issues for the scans).
Albert Chame : I have seen in all most of reprinted editions , after FREW #900 , mostly stories are with full version only . Whenever FREW is republishing the same story after a considerable gap , it is written with full version , whereas there is basically no difference
