The story: Returning from California (see RK005 Past Imperfect), Rip and Desmond decide to join Honey on her journey to the exotic Rainbow Island on Hawaii, where her wealthy uncle and his eccentric doll-collecting secretary run a large plantation. As Rip is told by the proprietors that he cannot accompany the party to the island and both he and Desmond escape near death shortly afterwards, the bespectacled detective decides to have a closer look at the fortified island and its jealously guarded ‘Doll’s House’...
