The story: Reminiscing over old cases in a scrap book with Dorian, Rip is contacted by a distressed Pagan Lee  who is starring in a prestigious floor show in Buckaroo, a busy gambling town in the American desert. Learning that Pagan has been threatened by a rival club manager and that an attempt has already been made on her life, Rip rushes to Buckaroo - where more than one old enemy lie in wait...
