Jungle Patrol - IJC #026

Hello friends ! This comic was pending since a very long time . Its ad pages were missing which were ultimately sent by Sudhanshu ( ICC ) today itself .

As he asked to post in original look only but already had cleaned the comic with magic wand in photoshop manually ( 3 hours in cleaning , 30 mintues in scanning ) .

Most of persons like vinatage look of the comic but I personally like the defects removed , but over cleaning do not like . With magic want tool in photoshop , just cleaned balloons & sides only . No original colors changed .

Just download both versions & just let me know .

If any body wants print out of the comics , cleaned versions gives very nice effect .

Full credit to Sudhanshu ( ICC ) for front cover & ad pages . He will be helping all missing comics too .Thanks to him in advance

I personally like this comic very much . A very much detailed & nice analysis already been done by Zaheer on his recent posted this one issue too .IJC version was edited story but have in FREW , Diamond comics , Printing by Sameer too . Always liked this story , every time I read this , enjoy it .

This one posted is in HQ .

Just let me know reactions /suggestions about  the cleaned version . Normally persons just download comic & go but no problem .Hope some persons will take time to inform in one or two lines .

The previous version was DC version, with a Low-Res IJC cover. IJC edited the panels heavily.

Thanks Ajay & Chandoba.

OI consider it as one of the best stories in IJCs.
Thanks, Parishi and everyone who has contributed in putting such a nice post.

Yellowish pale page doesn't look good as far as digital look concern. This kind of look may suits to hard copy but totally unsuitable for digital format. Your previous post (walker’s table) was properly cleaned as compared to this one. Shinning is missing this time which was in abundance in walker’s table’s each pages.

Hi all,

I do not liked the "cleaned version" at all.

If you clean the 'surrounding whites', you made a distortion in the page. You'd better change the white point for the whole image.

I used The GIMP to do that and it tooks me less time to get a better front cover (and far better first The Phantom page [page 7]) than the software takes time for its launch.

On the other hand, the comic book print is not really good (colors are not corectly printed / printed where it should have been: watch the red...)

Emile

I absolutely do not understand about this newly launched fad, so called "cleaning" in ps.. This was started by sameer, i suppose.
we should always remember that we are scanning "indrajal comics" and not phantom/mandrake stories..so, increasing little of brightness, sharpness, no issue, but cleaning means fading of a comic is strict no no... too much brightness/sharpness/colour/contrast will definately harm your eyes( you dont even see ur LCD in that settings !!!)

please stick to ur original scanning settings.. nobody had any objection that time when u scanned almost 2/3 of ijs !!!!!!

you can use a "freeware" called fastone image viewer for editing and cleaning... I have imroved #267 with this software.. Prabhat woll post it in probably couple of days..

I don't like "cleaned" scans. So did not download that. So no comments.

Thanks Chandu for this comic. It has been a long time wish of mine to read this c2c in high res. I am one of the minority who likes both the cleaned and the unaltered scans :o). To each his own, I guess. (Wasn't that an IJC title?)

Well, personally speaking i like unaltered version with vintage look intact but won't mind also if its lightly overhauled. But certainly don't like a over-cleaned version where all colors have been enhanced, yellowness replaced with sparkling whiteness and cover page 'face-lifted' to a extent where it looses its original vintage look.

Venkitachalam Subramanian : Welcome . It was help from Sudhanshu which made it possible to post this comic .

July 3, 2011 at 1:12 PM

praveen : Welcome . I personally like this story very much too

TIGER : Thanks for your suggestion . Walker's table actual copy was soaked with water , used auto colour, contrast & curve tools to improve the pages.

In case , you have this comic personally , printing is very bad , colours very badly printed .
Agree on point that it does not look good but same tools were used but effect totally different

Emile : Thanks for candid opinion. Please just help me to use GIMP tools , though downloaded but not able to use it properly .
Regarding data , as all information is on deepwoods so just avoid ( can not be any excuse for this )

Agree printing quality is very poor as far this particular comic is concerned .

Pl just write me : misraajay1970@gmail.com for your help .

Indrajal Comics Club : thanks for suggestion . As advised by you , just avoided changing original scans , As cleaned version was already there for a long time so posted this .

Normally I clean only balloons which become very dirty due to time effect as well crop sides .

Colonel Worobu : Welcome . Yes , to his own was an IJC issue , in war series.

In case you take out print out in color version , cleaned version is perfect though very less persons take print outs of color version .

Comic World : Thanks for your suggestions & opinions .

Recently had scanned one comics on which one fly had died after scanning its picture came so clear that it really looked a vintage look . Agree on the point excess of any thing is not correct but little defect removal is just justified ( my opinion only )
